My recent food photography campaign for Hofer (Aldi) just got out on the streets. Very happy with the results, loved working in chiaroscuro setting.

Where fresh pasta is made

There is a new restaurant in town – Leon, place with Good food and mood. Their home speciality is fresh home made pasta, pizza dough with Napolitano recipe and scorching hot steaks on lava rocks that melt in your mouth. The food is ment to please the eye and stomach as well, so I am very glad to be part of their visual identity, designed by Nenad Cizl.

Fresh spring rolls with salmon

When it’s Asia hot, eat like Asians do. Here is a refreshing recipe for the heat, which allows you to stay away from scorching hot stove and oven.

Fresh spring rolls with spinach and salmon (2 persons)

  • 12 leaves of spinach
  • 7 leaves of green lettuce
  • few mint leaves
  • smoked salmon
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 avocado
  • 10 rice papers

Soak rice paper in warm water for 30 seconds. Place on wooden board and begin adding the rest of the ingredients as a filling. See the folding instructions here.

Ginger dipping sauce

  • 2 teaspoons of grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp od rice vinegar
  • juice from 1 lime
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 minced chilli
  • 1 minced garlic
  • 4 tbsp water
  • sprinkle of salt and sugar

Combine all of the ingredients and stir until sugar dissolves completely.

Na pire v Beograd

Jeseni sva šla na izlet, roadtrip z avtom, zapasala je destinacija z mestno razigranostjo dogajanja, domačnostjo ljudi in nostalgijo Juge: Ljubljana, Zagreb, Beograd. Preizkušanje restavracij je obvezen del raziskovanja mesta. Jedla sva presenetljivo dober sushi, preizkusila klasiko stare šole na Skadarliji, fensijadila v urbano hipsterskem konceptnem marketu, ampak v srce se je najbolj zapisal Pire Slow Food. Ali “pajr slou fud” kot sem ga prvič prebrala sama misleč, da bo to še ena fensi tuja skovanka.

Izkazalo se je, da je restavracija poimenovana njihovi hišni domači specialiteti – pireju. Prikupili so se že z ambientom dnevne sobe in detajli, ki kažejo, da je lastnica s srcem in sanjami v restavraciji, ki jo je mimogrede tudi opremila. Že začetek je bil skrajno obetaven, metin čaj s svežimi lističi mete, ker je velik plus za razliko od običajnih vrečk 1001 gorskega drobirja. Jedilnik ima 10+ različnih okusov pirejev, najboljši način za preizkušanje je naročilo izbora petih najboljših pirejev – s tartufi, baziliko, wasabijem, mandeljni in sladko rdečo papriko.V resnici sploh nisem fenica pirejev, ampak te pireje bi lahko jedla kot samostojno jed. Saj ne, da so bila spremljujoča nabodalca z rakci slaba, samo nikakor nisem uspela izbrati favorita med vsemi pireji. Mogoče wasabijev, ki je doživel reprizo doma. Ali pa kremasti z baziliko. Čeprav tartufi…
